Question 1

How much protein do I need on Ozempic or Mounjaro?

Accepted Answer

Clinical nutrition guidelines (ESPEN) recommend 1.6g to 2.2g of bioavailable protein per kilogram of adjusted body weight per day (typically 120g–160g daily for average adults), divided into meal boluses of ≥30g to activate the leucine mTOR trigger and prevent skeletal muscle wasting.

Question 2

How do you stop sulfur burps on Semaglutide?

Accepted Answer

Sulfur burps occur when high-fat foods ferment in the stomach due to delayed gastric emptying. Treatment requires cold liquid protein isolates, warm ginger tea, keeping fats strictly under 10g per meal during the 48-hour peak drug concentration window, and avoiding fatty foods before sleep.

Question 3

What is the safe caloric floor on GLP-1 medications?

Accepted Answer

The safe caloric floor is calculated based on Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) using the Mifflin-St Jeor formula. Dipping below this floor downregulates Free T3 thyroid hormone and triggers adaptive thermogenesis, stalling fat loss and increasing muscle catabolism.
